This project reimagines the Victorian language of flowers for a digital age. Historically, flowers were used to send secret, symbolic messages, expressing emotions that words sometimes could not. Today, in an era of instant and often fleeting communication, this project invites a return to thoughtfulness, intimacy, and slow expression.
As part of my Graphic Design Thesis, The Floral Code blends physical and digital forms of communication. Visitors are invited to choose a flower, each carrying a historic meaning, and to write a personal message inspired by that symbolism. You can choose to send your message privately or contribute it to a public digital archive, creating a shared garden of memory, connection, and sentiment.
Through design, storytelling, and interaction, this project explores how old-world systems of hidden communication can be reinterpreted for today, preserving both the beauty of the tangible and the reach of the digital.
